We all know that everything in optics is about people – so it makes sense that if you have the best people you will deliver the best service which in turn drives referral and builds your business

Your people and their performance are key in shaping your business future and strategy.

Job performance = mental ability + personality x motivation

Ophthalmologists

Over the next three years it is predicted that the patient flow for Ophthalmologists will increase by 30 to 40% in New Zealand; we also estimate there is a current shortage of 40 Ophthalmologists, combined with a growing per annum need of an additional 15, this on top of the existing shortage.

This specialist field also remains on the New Zealand immigration service skills shortage list, creating easier access into New Zealand; we welcome enquiry (year round) from Ophthalmologists seeking a lifestyle change.

Orthoptics

Currently there are 20 registered Orthoptists employed in New Zealand; with upcoming changes in the more flexible delivery of eye care services New Zealand wide we predict stronger demand and enquiry for Orthoptists in the delivery of eye care services within public and private eye clinic environments and from some specialised Optometry practices.

Ophthalmic Nurses

With upcoming changes in a more flexible delivery of eye care services New Zealand wide; OpticsNZ predicts stronger demand and enquiry for Ophthalmic Nurses within both public and private eye clinics across the country, we welcome enquiry from qualified ophthalmic nurses year round.

Optometrists

Despite the entry barrier created by OCANZ there remains a shortage of Optometrists within New Zealand, particularly in the more provincial locations. Australian Optometrists can work in New Zealand easily but those that qualified in any other country will be required to sit the OCANZ examinations please refer to www.ocanz.org. OpticsNZ naturally welcomes enquiry from Optometrists at any time.

Dispensing Opticians and other positions

OpticsNZ have been placing qualified Dispensing Opticians, practice managers lab technicians, wholesale sales executives etc into new workplace locations for many years. If you are looking for a change from within New Zealand or looking to immigrate to New Zealand we welcome your enquiry.
